Mudslingers Coffee 12/8

Recently opening in late October, Mudslingers is the first and only coffee shop in Owens Cross Roads, AL. The first time I went to this wonderful place I was able to find out a bit about the family and why they decided to open this drive-thru coffee shop in Owens Cross Roads. The family moved here from Alaska where there was a Mudslingers on almost every corner of their town. When they moved here they were devastated to discover that if you wanted some coffee from a local place then you had to travel to Huntsville, AL. They decided to open a branch of Mudslingers right off Route 431 in Owens Cross Roads.

This tiny little drive-thru coffee place can comfortably hold about 4 people inside. It is unlike any coffee shop I am used to seeing. Hours are 6am-2pm Monday-Friday, 7am-12pm Saturday, and closed on Sunday. The owners and employees are incredibly nice! Everyone is super friendly and willing to answer any questions you have about the small building, coffee, food, and other drinks! I have never had a bad experience while ordering coffee here.

I ordered the 16oz. iced Raspberry White Truffle. I was a bit worried that the white chocolate flavor would overpower the raspberry. However, this drink was such a perfect blend of the two. My father got the 24oz. iced Nutty Buddy, which he finished in no time. He described it as an iced hot chocolate. We did not get any other drinks or treats, but based on previous visits I can tell you that the muffin tops are delicious!

The prices may look alarming at first because they look similar to the price of Starbucks, but for the amount of coffee you get it really isn't bad. I did not realize they had a special winter menu (located on their Instagram), but this just means I will have to go again soon and try them!

If you are worried about making the drive from Huntsville, AL to Owens Cross Roads, AL just to try this locally owned coffee shop, I can guarantee that it is worth it! Also, there is also another location opening in Huntsville, AL at some point!
